In Afghanistan In the villages, many women, especially Pashtuns, are getting tattoos on their faces. It is called "Khaal" (means dot, as tattoos are mostly drawn as dots). It is considered a sign of beauty in young girls and women. This is what inspired the creation of this delicate Lapis Lazuli block adorned with multicolored tourmaline dots, and made with Gold platted brass, designed by Oriane Zerah and conceived in collaboration with Milad Zamani an Afghan jeweler maker. All pieces are made exclusively with stones found in Afghanistan.
